jesus-vs-demon-700x419_largeI can’t help but scoff at the devil when he attempts to attack real Christians. As a matter of fact, true Christians are always the object of attack of the enemy, because they are the ones that cause trouble in his kingdom. I just had a spiritual attack this morning, and I’d like to share it with you.

I had an issue with my family that resulted in a quarrel. In a rage of anger, I moved to the top floor of my family house. As I approached the final floor, I saw this short looking figure. She was obviously looking like a foreign spirit. As I tried to retreat back to the down floor, the spirit quickly tried to prevent me from going down. In fact, she quickly carried me, in the realms of the spirit, ready to take me captive and enslave me. I began to shout: “In the name of Jesus! Blood of Jesus!” I shouted this several times. As I shouted the blood of Jesus, all I heard was: “Oh no! We’re going down again!” The demon had no option but to let me go. I then woke up, with my heart racing. It had been a spiritual attack in the form of a dream.

I know of a lot of people who would then immediately call their pastors to pray for them. As a matter of fact a lot more would be scared. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t. Rather, I got up and declared war in the kingdom of the devil. Yes, because God has given us the power to do so. I declared disaster and chaos, destroying all the principalities that worked against me that night.

Christians, whether you believe it or not, or see this article as another superstitious piece, take this from me—spiritual warfare is true. Look, I know about REM and non-REM sleep (Gosh! I’m a medic) and all the other psychodynamic explanation for dreams, but spiritual attacks are real.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

You’d rather benefit by not doubting. Rather you should be asking: How exactly did he fight against those spirits, and how did he win?

Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him (Satan) by the blood? of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony …”

Oh yes! There’s power in the blood of Jesus. But how would I have known this if I didn’t read the scriptures? So therefore, it stands that one of our key tools in spiritual warfare is our knowledge of the word of God. With that said, the main tools I use in spiritual warfare against principalities are: the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus.

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

When the bible says authority, it means authority. Authority doesn’t beg neither does it ask; it commands! We have therefore been given power over all these evil spirits to command and frustrate all their activities by the power in the name of Jesus.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:10-11

God has given us power! Isn’t that wonderful? We have power over principalities and demons. That’s why we needn’t sit down and watch the devil destroy our families and lives. Whenever the devil tries to scare you scare him off with the name of Jesus! Hallelujah. Frustrate the devil today. What do you think?
